I am Monique Smulders, second-year master student in Cognitive Neuroscience. Currently, I am trainee in the EPAN lab where I am working together with Floris Klumpers and Anneloes Hulsman on the Police In Action project. My main focus is to investigate the neural correlates that drive the response during threatening situations and how these might play a role in anxiety-related psychopathology. Additionally, I will be involved in a study of avoidance behaviour carried out in a transdiagnostic patient group.

Before joining the EPAN lab, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen.
