Mirthe Stevelink

My name is Mirthe Stevelink, and I am a Cognitive Neuroscience master student in the Development & Lifelong Plasticity track at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Here, I also completed a bachelor’s in psychology with a focus on the Brain & Cognition specialization. My main interest in neuroscience lies in how environmental and biological factors can have an influence on changes in brain structure and functioning throughout life; specifically in how this differs per person and whether this can lead to (symptoms of) psychological disorders.

During my internship under supervision of Prof. Dr. Karin Roelofs and Dr. Anna Tyborowska at the EPAN lab, I will join the BIBO study: a longitudinal study investigating influences of environmental factors and individual characteristics on children’s development. I will mainly help in carrying out the fMRI experiment investigating emotion regulation that is currently being set up, and dive into the neuroimaging data available from previous research within this longitudinal study to write my thesis on.
