I am Britt Di Vita, master student in Theoretical and Experimental Psychology at Ghent University. Currently, I am an intern at the EPAN lab under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Eliana Vassena. Our project focusses on the role of motivation in psychopathology. By combining behavioural and psychophysiological measurements, we want to study the willingness to exert cognitive effort, especially when the outcome is uncontrollable. The correlation with symptoms of depression and anxiety is explored by using a transdiagnostic approach.
Before I started studying experimental psychology, I obtained my BSc degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. My interest in languages remained, however, my interest in human behaviour increased, especially associated with psychopathology.
